I chose to do a wiki as a word sorting activity, Students must read the provided words and then place each word in its corresponding column. These types of activities can be used to reinforce spelling and grammar rules. Students are able to add their own words to the list as well.
Wikis are great for providing activities for different levels of learning. Students are able to choose between simple and more difficult tasks, depending on ability level. Although some capable students might choose to complete simpler tasks, those students who enjoy challenges will complete the more difficult tasks.
I lke the idea of having a wiki for writing activities, students are encouraged to add and edit a class wiki according to the activities and tasks posted on the wiki. I would create a separate wiki for each class, so as not to overwhelm my students with the responses and additions of each class.
Overall, I think wikis are great however, they are time-consuming to create. Educators must ensure that the ones they create provide many opportunities for learning.
